Terms of Service

Last Updated: August 25, 2026

Welcome to Scripto. By using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using our services.

1.Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Scripto, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.

2.Description of Services

Scripto operates a digital marketplace connecting production professionals, equipment rental companies, studios, venues, and training providers with clients across the UAE. Through the platform, users can browse and book equipment, venues, and professional services; post and bid on tenders; and enroll in training courses. Scripto facilitates bookings, tenders, payments, and communications between users, but is not a party to the underlying agreement between a service provider and a client, and does not itself supply production, equipment, venue, or training services.

3.User Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Accounts may be registered as an individual, professional, company, government entity, or training provider, and business accounts may require additional verification (such as a trade license). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account, and agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and keep it updated. You must verify your email address. You may continue using the platform without verifying for up to 30 days from registration; if the address is still unverified after that period, your account is suspended and can only be reactivated by an administrator. Verification is available at any time from the verification page or by requesting a new verification email.

4.Booking and Cancellation

Bookings and awarded tenders made through Scripto are agreements between you and the relevant service provider or client. Each provider sets and displays its own cancellation policy on the listing. Scripto facilitates the booking and tender process but is not responsible for the performance, quality, safety, or legality of services delivered by providers, nor for the conduct of clients.

5.Payments and Fees

Scripto may charge service or booking fees. Where a fee applies, it is clearly disclosed before you confirm a transaction; no fee is charged unless shown at checkout. Payments are processed by third-party payment processors, currently Stripe and PayTabs - Scripto does not receive or store your full card details, which are handled directly by these processors. Prices are shown in UAE Dirhams (AED) unless stated otherwise, and UAE VAT is applied where required by law. By confirming a booking, you authorize Scripto and its payment processors to charge your selected payment method for the confirmed amount and any applicable fees.

6.Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellation policies vary by service provider and are displayed on each listing. Refunds are processed according to the applicable cancellation policy. Any Scripto service fees may be non-refundable in certain circumstances, as disclosed at the time of booking.

7.Intellectual Property

All content on Scripto, including logos, text, graphics, and software, is the property of Scripto or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

8.User Content

You retain ownership of content you post on Scripto, including listings, reviews, portfolio items, and messages. By posting content, you grant Scripto a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it in connection with operating the platform. You are solely responsible for the content you post and confirm that you have the right to post it. If you believe content on Scripto infringes your intellectual property rights, contact us at legal@scripto.ae with details of the content and your claim, and we will review it and take appropriate action.

9.Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to: violate any laws or regulations; infringe on others' intellectual property rights; post false, misleading, or fraudulent content; harass or discriminate against other users; attempt to circumvent our fees or payment system; attempt to bypass or interfere with our security, verification, or bot-detection systems; or use automated systems to access our platform without permission. Scripto also publishes Community Guidelines setting out what is and is not acceptable in messages, listings, reviews and uploaded files - covering harassment, fraud, and content that may never be uploaded. They form part of these Terms, and breaching them is a breach of this agreement.

10.Limitation of Liability

Scripto is a marketplace platform and does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or condition of equipment, venues, or services listed by providers, nor the conduct of any user. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scripto is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our platform. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount of fees you paid to Scripto in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11.Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scripto and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

12.Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these terms. You may close your account at any time. Termination does not affect your obligations for prior transactions or any provisions that by their nature should survive.

13.Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Scripto are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the onshore courts of Abu Dhabi, UAE, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

14.Automated Content Screening

Images uploaded to Scripto - listing photos, avatars, portfolio items and chat attachments - are screened automatically by an image-recognition service before or shortly after they appear on the platform. Content that the service flags as likely to breach these Terms may be hidden or removed without a person reviewing it first. This screening is automated and it is not perfect. It can flag content that breaks no rule. If your content is removed this way, you will be told, and you may appeal. An appeal is reviewed by a member of our team, not by the automated system, and you will be told the outcome. Where a takedown is overturned, the content is restored. We do not use automated systems to make decisions about your account status, your eligibility to transact, or the price you are shown. Suspensions and terminations are decided by a person.

15.Copyright and Intellectual Property Complaints

If you believe content on Scripto infringes copyright or another intellectual property right you own or represent, you can ask us to remove it. Our Copyright Policy sets out what a complaint must contain, how to send it, how the person who posted the content can respond, and how we deal with users who infringe repeatedly. We remove content that is the subject of a valid complaint, and we terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe. Submitting a complaint you know to be false may make you liable for the resulting costs and damages.

16.Resolving Disputes

If you have a dispute with us, please contact legal@scripto.ae first and describe the problem and the outcome you want. Most issues are resolved this way. We will acknowledge your notice within 7 days and try in good faith to resolve it with you within 30 days. This step is a courtesy and a practical one - it does not limit your rights, does not shorten any legal time limit, and does not stop you going to court or to a consumer protection authority at any time, including immediately. Disputes between you and another user - over a booking, a tender, an item's condition, or payment for work - are between the two of you. Scripto is not a party to them. We will provide transaction records on a reasonable request to help you resolve them, and we may assist, but we do not arbitrate between users and we are not liable for the outcome.

17.Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Terms on our platform and updating the 'Last Updated' date. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

18.Contact Information

If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us at: Scripto Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Email: legal@scripto.ae
