Copyright Policy
Last Updated: September 4, 2026
Scripto hosts content posted by its users - listings, photographs, portfolio work, reviews, course material and messages. We do not review that content before it appears. If something on Scripto infringes a copyright or other intellectual property right you own or represent, this page explains how to tell us and what we will do.
1.What this policy covers
This policy covers claims that user-posted content on Scripto infringes copyright, trade marks, or similar rights. It does not cover complaints that content is inaccurate, offensive, or otherwise against our rules - report those through the report control on the content itself, or to support@scripto.ae. We respond to valid notices regardless of where the complainant or the content is located.
2.Sending a takedown notice
Send your notice to copyright@scripto.ae. To be actionable it must include all of the following: 1. Identification of the work you say is infringed. If you are listing several works, a representative list is enough. 2. The exact location of the infringing material on Scripto - a full URL for each item, or enough detail that we can find it without guessing. 3. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address. 4. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law. 5. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf. 6. Your physical or electronic signature. A notice missing any of these may be returned to you rather than acted on. We cannot act on a report that does not identify the specific content.
3.What happens next
We aim to acknowledge a notice within 2 business days and to act on a valid one within 10 business days. Where a notice is valid we remove or disable access to the material. We tell the user who posted it what was removed and why, and we give them a copy of the notice including the complainant's identity and contact details. If you do not want your details passed on, say so in your notice and we will tell you before proceeding - but we cannot usually act on an anonymous complaint, because the person who posted the content has a right to answer it.
4.If your content was removed
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, or that you are entitled to use the material, you can send a counter-notice to copyright@scripto.ae containing: 1. Identification of the material removed and where it appeared. 2. A statement that you believe in good faith it was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification. 3. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address. 4. Your physical or electronic signature. We pass the counter-notice to the original complainant. If they do not tell us within 10 business days that they have started legal proceedings, we may restore the material. This is separate from the appeal route for content removed by our automated image screening, which is described in our Terms of Service and does not require a counter-notice.
5.Repeat infringers
We keep a record of infringement notices upheld against each account. An account that accumulates repeated upheld notices will be suspended and then terminated, and we may refuse to deal with the person behind it again. What counts as repeated depends on the seriousness and the pattern rather than a fixed number, and a single deliberate or commercial-scale infringement can be enough on its own. Using another account to evade a termination is itself a breach of our Terms.
6.False claims
A takedown notice has real consequences for the person whose content is removed. If you knowingly misrepresent that material is infringing, you may be liable for the costs and damages caused, including their legal fees and ours. We refer repeatedly abusive complainants to the relevant authorities and may decline to process their future notices.
