Community Guidelines
Last Updated: September 4, 2026
Scripto is a working marketplace. People meet here to hire crew, rent gear, book venues, bid on tenders and teach. That only works if everyone can deal with a stranger without being harassed, deceived or exposed. These guidelines apply to every part of the platform: messages, listings, reviews, portfolios, tenders, course material, profile details and every file you upload. They apply to you whether you are a company, a freelancer, a trainer, a government buyer, or someone who signed up ten minutes ago.
1.Treat people decently
Disagreements happen in business. Abuse is not a disagreement. Do not: - Insult, demean, mock or humiliate anyone, in a message or in public. - Bully or pile on. Repeatedly contacting someone who has asked you to stop, following them across listings and conversations, or coordinating others to target them is harassment, and it is treated as harassment whether or not any single message looks bad on its own. - Threaten anyone with violence, harm, exposure or damage to their reputation or livelihood, including as a joke or in anger over a booking. - Attack people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other characteristic. This includes slurs, coded language and hateful imagery. - Sexually harass anyone. Do not comment on someone's body, proposition them, or send sexual content in a conversation that is about work. A person listing a service is not inviting your interest in them. - Encourage or celebrate self-harm, suicide, or violence against anyone. Being right about the money does not entitle you to any of the above.
2.Messages and conversations
The inbox exists so two people can do a deal. Treat it that way. Do not: - Send bulk, repetitive or unsolicited messages. Contacting fifty professionals with the same pitch is spam even if your service is real. - Use conversations to advertise something unrelated to what the other person listed or asked for. - Keep messaging after someone has said no, stopped replying, or blocked you. Blocking is a decision, not an obstacle. - Harvest contact details. Do not scrape phone numbers or emails out of conversations for a mailing list, and do not sell or pass on what you collect. - Pressure anyone to move off Scripto before a booking is agreed, particularly to take payment somewhere we cannot see. That is the single most common way people get defrauded here. - Send links to malware, phishing pages, or sites pretending to be Scripto, a bank, or a payment provider. - Impersonate anyone - another user, a company you do not represent, a government body, or Scripto staff. Scripto will never ask you for your password. If a conversation turns abusive, you can block the other person and report the conversation. You do not owe anyone a reply.
3.Honesty and fraud
Most disputes here start as a misrepresentation, not a crime. Both are prohibited. Do not: - List equipment, venues, services or skills you do not have, cannot supply, or do not have the right to rent out. - Use photographs of gear, spaces or work that are not yours, or that do not show the actual item on offer. Stock images passed off as your own kit are deceptive even if the model is identical. - Misstate your experience, credentials, certifications or past clients. - Post fake reviews, arrange reviews in exchange for anything, review your own listing through another account, or leave a retaliatory review that misrepresents what happened. - Bid on tenders with no intention or ability to deliver, or use the bidding process to extract a competitor's pricing. - Request payment by a method that leaves no record, invent fees that were never disclosed, or ask for a deposit and then change the terms. - Take payment for work you do not intend to complete, or abandon an accepted booking without notice. - Create additional accounts to evade a suspension, a block, a bad review, or a repeat-infringement record. If someone asks you for money in a way that feels wrong, stop and report it before you pay.
4.What you must never upload
This applies to every file you put on Scripto and every way you can put one there: listing photographs and videos, your profile picture, cover images, portfolio pieces, company and course artwork, tender attachments, review images, verification documents, and any file or image you attach to a message. A private message is not a private channel - the same rules apply there as on a public listing. Never upload: - Sexual content. No nudity, no sexual acts, no sexualised depiction of anyone, and nothing pornographic. This is a professional marketplace and there is no context here in which such content belongs. - Any sexual content involving a minor, or any content that sexualises a child, in any form including drawn, edited or generated imagery. There is no appeal from this. Accounts are terminated immediately and the material is reported to the authorities. - Graphic violence, gore, mutilation, animal cruelty, or footage of real deaths or serious injury. - Content promoting terrorism, violent extremism or a mass-casualty attack, or displaying the symbols of such a group. - Hate imagery: symbols, slogans or caricatures attacking a group as described above. - Content designed to harass a specific person - their photograph edited to demean them, a screenshot circulated to mock them, images taken to intimidate. - Another person's private information: their identity documents, home address, phone number, bank or card details, medical or immigration records, or intimate images of them. This is prohibited whether or not it is true, and whether or not you obtained it lawfully. - Images of people who did not agree to appear. If a person is identifiable in your portfolio, on set or in a venue, you need their permission to publish them. - Work you do not own or have no licence for: photographs, footage, music, designs, logos, course material or scripts belonging to someone else. See our Copyright Policy if you need something removed. - Malware, executables, scripts, or files disguised as something else. - Drugs, weapons for sale, counterfeit goods, or anything else that cannot lawfully be sold in the UAE. - Files whose purpose is deception - a document altered to fake a certification, an invoice that was never issued, an edited screenshot of a conversation. Upload only what is relevant to what you are offering, asking for, or discussing.
5.Other people's privacy
You will see things here that are not yours to share. A client's shoot location, a venue's access codes, a rate someone quoted you in confidence, a phone number given so you could coordinate a booking. Use what you are given for the job it was given for. Do not publish it, forward it, add it to a list, or bring it up in a review. Do not photograph or record anyone on a booking without their knowledge and agreement. If a conversation contains something sensitive, keep it in the conversation.
6.How this is enforced
Images uploaded to Scripto are screened automatically before or shortly after they appear, and content flagged as likely to breach these guidelines may be hidden before any person reviews it. That screening is not perfect. If your content is removed and you believe it was a mistake, you can appeal, and a member of our team - not the automated system - reviews it. Content is restored where an appeal succeeds. This is described in our Terms of Service. Everything else depends on people telling us. Reports are read by our moderation team, weighed against these guidelines and against what actually happened rather than who complained loudest. What follows a breach depends on what it was and whether it is a pattern. We may remove content, limit what an account can do, suspend it, or terminate it. Some things skip the ladder entirely: child sexual content, credible threats of violence, and organised fraud end an account on the first occurrence. Creating another account to get around an enforcement decision is itself a breach. We may report criminal conduct to the UAE authorities, and we will comply with a lawful request for records.
7.Reporting and blocking
Report a listing, review, profile or conversation with the report control on the item itself. Tell us what happened and point us at the specific message or file - a report we cannot locate is a report we cannot act on. Blocking someone stops them messaging you. You can block from a conversation at any time, and you do not have to explain it or warn them first. For anything urgent - a threat to someone's safety, a child at risk, or an active fraud - email support@scripto.ae with URGENT in the subject line. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the UAE emergency services on 999 first. We are a marketplace, not an emergency service, and we cannot respond at that speed. Do not use reporting as a weapon. Filing reports you know to be false, to remove a competitor or to punish a bad review, is itself a breach of these guidelines.
